Alarm & Data Minibox

Alarm & Data Minibox

The Alarm & Data Minibox from ISONA is suitable for monitoring small energy generation systems where burner faults and two measurement values (e.g. 4–20 mA temperature sensor on the buffer storage tank, 4–20 mA pressure sensor in the heating circuit, etc.) need to be monitored or recorded. The Minibox is available in versions with an LTE-M or LoRaWAN cellular module.

In addition, the Alarm & Data Minibox features a digital output that allows a third-party device to be switched on or off remotely via a coupling relay. Other areas of application include any kind of installation where faults need to be detected and measured values from 4–20 mA sensors need to be read and monitored against thresholds.

Via the integrated LTE radio module, the Minibox sends alarm messages to the ISONA Automation WebCenter whenever a fault signal (e.g. general fault) is detected at the digital input or when the measurement value at the analog inputs falls below or exceeds a defined threshold. In operation, the Minibox requires only a very small amount of data, making it particularly cost-effective in terms of ongoing cellular costs.

All parameters are configured in the ISONA Automation WebCenter (AWC) and can be transferred to the Minibox quickly and easily via the serial interface before commissioning. The Alarm & Data Minibox communicates with the central MQTT broker in the Automation WebCenter using the MQTT protocol, and this communication is encrypted via a certificate for security reasons.

Technical Data

  • 1 digital input, galvanically isolated, for fault indication contacts or fault signals (3–24 V DC).

  • 2 analog inputs (4–20 mA), also configurable as additional digital inputs for fault indication contacts.

  • 1 relay output, switchable via the Automation WebCenter (1x changeover contact, max. 30 V DC, 3 A). Using a coupling relay, 230 V devices can be switched on/off.

  • 1 external SMA antenna connector (female) on the housing for connecting the supplied right-angle antenna. An external antenna can be connected in case of poor reception.

  • 1 Micro USB socket (serial interface for configuring the Alarm & Data Minibox via AWC).

  • Integrated LTE/LTE-M radio module

Additional data

  • 2 LEDs for operation status display (SYSTEM & ACT)
  • Power supply: 230 V AC
  • If 230 V AC is not available at the site, the device can also be operated using a battery (24 V DC)—ideally in combination with a solar panel, as the device has a very low power consumption.
  • Sensors and fault contacts are connected via screw terminals on the integrated adapter board.
  • Using switches on the adapter board, each analog input can be switched to a digital input for additional potential-free fault indication contacts.
  • If required, a custom module can be plugged onto the board to implement, for example, an interface adaptation for special sensors (please contact ISONA for details).
  • The Minibox can also be supplied without a housing for DIN rail mounting; in this case, an external 24 V DC power supply is required.
  • Scope of delivery: Device in IP65 housing, right-angle antenna (SMA), LTE-M SIM card (free 1NCE SIM card with up to 10 years runtime or up to 500 MB data volume, extendable at any time by the customer)
